book "People of Science").
Children must study what they need and want School should help child.
Schools like that are in England. They are called free schools There each child has a tutor who follows his progress through the school. A lot happens outside this school but not home tasks.
(After "Free school" from "Club" N4).
No doubt such schools prepare children to life better. I think you agree with me that doing one task leaves no time for career making. So our 1st argument is: Career making is a vital thing for teenagers.
Our 2nd argument is: Self-perfection an important process influencing human cuon and behavior.
A child who is obliged to do all the home tasks has no time creative work It all the students in all times did all the home tasks wouldnt have great dancer singers, poets, musicians, writers, scientists As a rule they were bad students. For example, we know well the name of such personalities as Boris, Becker, tennis-player, Aiman Musakhodzhayeva, a Kazakh violinist, Derek Walcott, a man of letters, and Pushkin, ave all known Russian poet.
("Planet" after D. Semenov, 1998p 329).
This fact demonstrates once more that curriculum isnt necessary for getting success.
The school system which demands equal compulsory sum of knowledge tries to make all the people equal too.
The pupils are no more than passive performers of the teachers instructions. But you know that the labour of a slave is never productive The pupils have no opportunity to realise themselves intellectually, spiritually, personally, they lose the very important internal motive of the learning activity. I repeat our 2nd argument once more. Self perfection is an important thing, influencing human interaction
