Culture and cultural diversity
Lesson Plan
Overview:
This lesson asks students to think about how cultural customs differ throughout the world. Students will research foreign cultures customs and write stories pretending they are on vacation with a friend from the country they have researched. They and their friend will travel to a new country that neither person is familiar with, and students will describe each persons reactions to the new culture and how these reactions differ based on each persons own cultural customs and habits.

Objectives:
Students will
discuss national diversity between people from different regions;
search the similarities and differences between culture through the practical comparison activities;
develop positive attitude toward nationality diversity, various dimensions of culture, differences in languages and traditions.
Aim of the lesson: to develop empathy skills toward different culture representatives, to form positive communicative skills.

Identify cultural differencesDistribute questions from the questionnaire to individual students. Have the students ask their questions to other students. With a partner, ask students to share their answers to the questionnaire to find similarities and differences.
