Teacher: What holiday will we celebrate tomorrow? What do you know about this holiday?
Pupil: The 14th of February is Saint Valentines day. Saint Valentine was the patron of sweethearts. He was a priest in Rome and helped young people to marry. On this day people buy or make Valentine cards and send them to people they love. They dont sign their cards - you must guess who sent the card to you. Boys and girls, husbands and wives, relatives and friends send cards to each other.
Teacher: Thank you. And your home task was to make your own Valentine card. Show me your cards and read the texts on them, please.
Teacher: What do you know about this holiday lets check.
TEST
Teacher: Is your birthday a holiday? What do you think? Who has birthday in February? Please, open your books at page 99, ex. 8. Bob and Ann are talking about something. Look at the text. What are they talking about? Listen and fill in the missing words 1-5.
Teacher: How do you celebrate birthdays? What do you like to eat? Do you decorate your flat? How do British and Chinese celebrate birthdays? In ex. 2 at page 100 find sentences about birthday food and decorations.
Teacher: Now in groups write an invitation card to your birthday.
Teacher: What do you know about Thanksgiving Day? Open your books at page101, ex. 2. Lets do the quiz. Now listen to the radio and check your answers.
