1)English simple food is beef, mutton, crab. It is accompanied by
incredible amounts of bread, salads and greens. This is the British style
of eating.
Apple pie is a traditional English pie. It is made with apples, sugar and
cinnamon. It is eaten with custard (заварной крем) It is often served
with tea.
2)The sandwich was invented in England. The Earl of Sandwich lived long ago
and he was a fanatic about playing cards. He even ate during the game. So his
servant put some meat between two slices of bread, so that the Earl could hold his
meal in one hand and play cards with the other. Sandwiches are less elegant now
and often much bigger.
3)The flour is made of grains, ground up to powder. Rye(рожь), barley(ячмень),
сorn(кукуруза) are widespread(широко распространы) Wheat flour is used more
often. Good dough is made from good flour.
