In support of the 1st argument. I want to say that for the last 10 years Kazakhstan has turned from an agricultural into an industrial country, first of all because of oil and gas. In our country there are many industrial enterprises which have been creating a lot of ecological problems. Among the negative factors we can mention the pollution of the air, land and water. This problem was discussed at the international conference The Present ecological situation of the Caspian Sea Among the participants were Tengizchevroil and Agip The aim of this conference was the elaboration of common demands for solving ecological problems because of oil operations in the northern part of the Caspian Sea. Salty water damages prospecting wells and their facilities, the loss of oil from them takes place and the Caspian bed is being polluted. The results of the expedition organized according to the Caspian environmental program last year in April and May, showed significant deterioration of toxicological situation. The scientists are worried very much, because this year 18 blocks for processing hydrocarbon raw materials will be put into tender.
