The problem of "generation gap" is not an easy matter. So, in order to find good practical solutions, I suggest you working in groups. Lets find out how to avoid the generation gap.
There are some things that adults are advisable to do. Of course, there is something that is forbidden for adults.
Discuss what is advisable and what is not. Then group all the expressions in two columns.
























Sometimes teenagers can be guilty. Lets be honest and say why older members of a family disapprove of your behaviour.

Groups 1-2
Students read the statements and group them in different categories: advisable, not advisable (forbidden).
make children feel low or ignored
give promises and not to keep them (to break them)
lose their temper and shout at children
criticize their children too much and deprive them of self-respect and self-confidence
punish the children severely
have favourite(s) in the family, not to treat all the children equally
give too much freedom to their children
not to give their children any freedom of choice
spoil their children in every possible way
give their children plenty of
