Course Objectives
This course aims to familiarize students with:
(a) the pivotal role language plays in human social organization;
(b) the study of interrelationship between language and society;
(c) different issues in both micro and macro sociolinguistics;
(d) the knowledge and ability to do sociolinguistic research; and
(e) the application of sociolinguistic knowledge in language education.
