4. Term Project: You are required to do a survey of sociolinguistic situation in your country or a
region in your country. Your survey should include:
(a) an introduction comprising the purpose of your research, definition of key terms as well as the
limitations of your research;
(b) review of the related literature;
(c) linguistic map of your country;
(d) discussion of the results of your survey;
(e) conclusion and implications; and
(f) references.
Notes:
1. Course participants are expected to observe academic ethics.
2. Course lectures may not be audio or video recorded.
3. Assignments should be submitted both electronically and in printed format.
4. Cellular phones should be turned off during class time not to disturb the class.
