Lesson Plan
Theme: Ways of Expressing Future Actions (will, be going to, Present Simple and Present Continuous)
Main aim: Introduce different ways of expressing future, explain the difference between them.
Tasks:
develop speaking and listening skills using the grammar material;
link the grammar structures and their usages;
encourage students to practice their knowledge individually, in pairs and groups.
Materials (including sources)
students books "Gateway B1" David Spencer;
students copybooks;
handouts tasks
power point presentation (Future Actions);
recordings of songs fragments
Group peculiarities: Students aged 16-17, the number of girls (12) prevails over the number of boys (2) in the group. Most of the students are of B1 level in the English language, however, there are those whose level is not sufficient for B1.
Warming up: Predictions. (2-3min. )
Think of three things you are going to do or you think you will do at the next weekend on pieces of paper. Collect the papers, read some st-s answers, students try to guess whose sentences they are.
He/She is going to watch TV at the weekend;
He/She thinks he/she will. . . .
Basic part (30 min)
1. Introduction ( 1-2 min)
Read the sentences:
1. Take an umbrella. It is going to rain!
2. Hurry up! The film starts at 5p. m.
3. I think, it will snow tomorrow.
4. Im having a party on Saturday. Are you doing anything special?
- Do all these sentences refer to the present, future or past?
-What tenses are used in all these sentences?

2. Practice (5-7 min)
