An Airplane Trip to London
It is 12 oclock noon in New York. A plane is taking off from Kennedy Airport. Mr. and Mrs. Lambert are on this plane. They are sitting in com - fortable seats. There are people sit - ting in rows of seats in front of them and behind them. Mrs. Lam - bert is looking through the window beside her. Mr. Lambert is reading a magazine. A man next to him is sleeping.
Many people are reading news - papers or books. The two men be - hind are talking. Young women in blue and grey uniforms are hurrying up and down the aisle. They are carrying trays of food and pots of coffee and tea. Mr. and Mrs. Lambert are going back to London after a ten-day tour in the United States.
It is four oclock. A stewardess is coming to a man who is smoking.
Stewardess: Excuse me, sir, youre smoking.
Man: What? Pardon?
Stewardess: Youre smoking, sir. No smoking, please. Look at the sign.
Man (reading): "FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS. DONT SMOKE. " Oh, sorry. Are we arriving?
Stewardess: Yes, were over Lon - don. Were arriving in about half an hour.
Man: Whats the time in London?
Stewardess:Were arriving at Heathrow at about one oclock a. m.
Man: One oclock a. m
