Welsh is 1 Celtic language that is spoken in 2 principality of Wales, with 3 speakers in Patagonia in 4 south 5 Argentina. It is very different 6 English. The Celts arrived 7 Europe in 8 fifth century BC. When 9 Anglo-Saxons invaded Britain, the British Celts moved west and northwards. Before 10 sixteenth century, Wales had 11 rich literary tradition and everybody in Wales spoke Welsh. After 12 unification of Wales with England in 1536, Welsh was banned and it declined rapidly. Until the 1960s, Welsh was not taught 13 schools and English was 14 only official language. A few years ago, only 500000 out 15 a population of nearly three million spoke Welsh and 16 people thought that 17 language was dying out. However, now it is growing again. Welsh is used 18 government, there is19 Welsh TV station and it is now taught in nearly 20 schools.
