SYNTAX: Subject am, is, are BEING past participle of main verb
ACTIVE VOICE PASSIVE VOICE
Affirmatives:
1. I am doing my homework. My homework is being done (by me).
2. I am reading the text. The text is being read (by me).
3. I am writing the letter. The letter is being written (by me).
Interrogatives:
Am I doing my homework? Is my homework being done (by me)?
Am I reading the text? Is the text being read (by me)?
Am I writing the letter? Is the letter being written (by me)?
Negatives:
I am not doing my homework. My homework is not being done (by me), etc.
Past continuous tense – Passive voice
SYNTAX: Subject was, were BEING past participle of main verb
ACTIVE VOICE PASSIVE VOICE
Affirmative:
I was doing my homework. My homework was being done (by me).
Interrogative:
Was I doing my homework? Was my homework being done (by me)?
Negative:
I was not doing my homework. My homework was not being done (by me).
Exercises No 1: transform these sentences from active voice to passive voice form in PRESENT continuous tense:
The head nurse is completing the duties list for nurses. –
The duties list for nurses is being completed by the head nurse. (passive voice for present continuous tense)
