nt has been completed (normally by credit or debit cards), the order is sent to the warehouse or local store where the order is put together ready for delivery. The customer will also receive a confirmation email.
The disadvantages of shopping online
Delivery - all of the items you buy have to be delivered regardless of their size, so you have to pay for the delivery and wait for it to arrive. Sometimes the delivery charge can be more than the product you are buying
Try before buying - you cannot see or try the products (except photos) before you buy; for products such as clothing, this is not ideal because if items do not fit, you have the added issue of returning them. Some sites have tried to resolve this by using virtual models, which can be customized to match your face and body shape. You can then try the clothes you want to buy on the model.
Viewing on-screen - you might be disappointed by the item delivered. Images and presentations online can sometimes give a different impression of a product.
Payment method - the only way many online shops can take payment for goods is using a credit or debit card and, without either, online shopping is out of reach. Although some sites allow payment through third-party payment processors such as Paypal, or gift vouchers, most accept only credit or debit cards. Hoever some people with access to such cards prefer not to shop online, worrying about handing over personal details on a computer
Digital access - not everybody has access to the Internet or the computer skills to be able to shop online.
The advantages of online shopping include:
Availability - you can shop 24/7, even on Christmas Day. Online stores are always open
Selection available - there is a far greater choice online
