Time: 40 minutes
Description of students: This is a remedial class. The students are weak in English. About half of them were among the Bottom Ten in the Final Examination in Secondary Three.
Objectives: At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:
make suggestions
respond to suggestions
Prior knowledge: Students have already learned how to
begin a group discussion
give and respond to opinions
Teaching aids: worksheets, cassette recorder and tape, blackboard.

5 Listening- Explain the sample discussion topic to SS (Worksheet P. 2)
- Tell SS to fill in the blanks in Exercise 1 as they listen to the tape.
- Play the tape.
- Check the answers with SS and highlight the main points.

10Individual practice- Ask SS to make sentences in Exercise 2, Part 1. (Worksheet P. 3)
- Ask some SS to read aloud their answers.
