New Years Day.
New Years Day celebrates the start of a new year. Our people celebrateNew Years Day on the first day of January, but the celebration actually begins on December 31,New Years Eve, the night beforeNew Years Day. Its a family holiday.
The most common typess of celebration is a New Year party, either a family party or one arranged by a group of people.
This usually begins at about 8 oclock in the evening and goes on until the early hours of the morning. There is much drinking and food. Its usually a buffet supper of cold meat, pies, cakes and biscuits. At midnight everyone likes to listen congratulations over the TV, then say Happy New Year to each other and the party goes on.
Another popular way of celebrating the New Year is to go to a New Years dance. Most hotels and dance halls held a special dance on New Years Eve. The hall is decorated, there are several different bands and the atmosphere is very gay.
