In 2014 we celebrated the 100th anniversary of Shemordan. I used to think that everything was familiar to me in my homeland. In fact, it turned out that I know very little about my native place. So, I decided to learn more about its unique history, glorious culture and present daily life. Learning to understand your native land is not an easy task. I did my research looking through the archive references, the articles from some newspapers, and a lot of books from our local library and old albums. Now I really have a feeling of belonging to my homeland. So, that is what Ive got. Our settlement Shemordan, surrounded by forests, is located on the border with Kukmor and Baltasi Districts. Many visitors and residents of the village are interested in the origin of the villages name. Even the old-timers cannot give a precise answer where it comes from. However, the answer has been found in the book "Historical and statistical description of the churches and parishes of the Kazan eparchy". Shemordan is formed from the Persian word "Shah Merden". It means "the king of the brave. " The prince Shemerden Churatchikov by name was among the Kazan ambassadors in Moscow in 1529.
At the beginning of the XX century thick forests and swamps were in the place of the present village Shemordan. The foundation of the village was connected with the construction of the railway line from Moscow to Ekaterinburg in 1914. The peasants and the workers from surrounding villages began uprooting.
