Okay, thank you for your answers. Now we are going to read the text about the sights of Wales. But first lets learn some new words for easier reading. Look at the slide (слайд 3), read words and their meanings one by one, please.
sight (n) - anything that is seen;
significance (n) - the quality of being significant;
parkland (n) - a large area of land preserved in its natural state as public property
Roman (adj) - relating to people of Rome
fort (n) - a fortified defensive structure
invader (n) - someone who enters by force in order to conquer
remains (n) - any object that is left unused or still extant;
marquess (n) - nobleman (in various countries) ranking above a count
interior (n) - the inner or enclosed surface of something
mural (n) - a painting that is applied to a wall surface
carving (n) - a sculpture created by removing material (as wood or ivory or stone) in order to create a desired shape
belong (v) - be owned by; be in the possession of
delightful (adj) - greatly pleasing or entertaining
medieval (adj) - relating to or belonging to the Middle Ages
surviving (adj) - still in existence
residence (n) - the official house or establishment of an important person
rescue (v) - free from harm or evil
restore (v) - return to its original or usable and functioning condition;
