not enough to listen to them at the lesson. The brain must understand information. It must be able to organize the information and decide what to do about it. In general people retain 10 of what they read, 20 of what they hear, 30 of what they see, 50 of what they see and hear, 70 of what they say and 90 of what they say and do.
To remember better we must use all the possibilities of the brain. We remember things most of all practicing them. The lesson doesnt give such a possibility. We remember by repetition. For one person, a repetition is enough, for others- 2, 3, 5. . . The creative abilities of a person are revealed when he works by himself Its impossible to master a subject listening to it during only an hour and a half a week. If we count these lessons well get 6 hours a month, 50 hours a year. Nobody will affirm that its enough.
When learning at school, students dont often know yet what they will be, what subjects they will need first of all. Even in the 1 form many children dont know yet what profession to choose, what they will be, in what sphere of activity they could get success, what occupation would be the most fruitful (this fact was taken from the book "An hour of pupillage" S. Soloveitchik, 1991)
This fact shows once more that the home task is a necessary thing students must revise at home the new material in all subjects because any subject and any knowledge may be useful.
Our 2nd argument is: "Home task is the work at oneself"
Home task is important not only because it gives a person more knowledge but also because it helps in the formation of the individual.
As rule the students who do all the home task feel themselves comfortable in class, first of all because they have self-esteem.
