People need vitamins to stay healthy. Vita means life in Latin. People get vitamins from the food they eat. There are a lot of vitamins in fruit and vegetables. But you cant find vitamins in fast food, chips and Coke. We need vitamins for our body. There are ten important vitamins. Vitamin A is in green and yellow vegetables, milk and eggs. It helps us to see in the dark. Vitamin B1 is in meat porridge and bread. B1 is important for nervous system. Vitamin C is in every fruit and vegetable. You can find vitamin C in oranges, strawberries, onions, cabbages and green peppers. It is important for bones and teeth. It helps to prevent colds. Vitamin D is important for our bones. We can get it from eggs. Vitamin E is necessary for skin and body. We can get it from nuts
