In Britain there are traditional regional costumes and styles of dress connected with some occasions. Many British costumes and uniforms have a long history. One is the uniform of the Beefeaters at the Tower of London. This came from France. There are two letters, E. R. on the front of their tunics. They stand for the Queens name Elizabeth Regina. The uniform is as it used to be in Tudor times.
