On the 30th of August the people of Kazakhstan celebrate a holiday, Constitution Day. This day is a great holiday because the Constitution is the result of a difficult work. Our Constitution is for our people, it gives them the rights which people use for their needs.
Our country takes care of all children, constitution gives them the right to learn. And when they leave school, they will have the right which all Kazakhstan people have.
But we must remember not only our rights. The Constitution has some articles about their duties. Schoolchildrens duty isto learn well. When they leave school, their duty is to work well, to take an active part in the life of the country and be ready to defend their country.
The carrent Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan ,endorsed in a national referendum in August 1995 and ratified the following month, replaces an ealier Constitution adopted in the wake of independence from the Russia. The Constitution provides for a democratic, secular state and presidental system of rule. In October 1998, the Constitution was amended to provide for a seven –year presidental term. The first election under this constitution was held in January 1999 and resulted in the reelection of president Nazarbaev.
