Listen! Halloween means "holy evening" or "All Hallows Evening". Its the evening before All Saints Day, November 1, according to the western Christian church calendar.

Witch 1:
October 31 was also the eve of the Celtic new year, a time when ghosts or evil spirits walked the earth and mingled mischievously with the living.
Costumes and jack-o-lanterns were thought to protect people from any harm these spirits might cause. And now, look there!

Witch 2:
Oh, I see somebody is flying here.

Из входной двери выбегают 3 ведьмы на метлах. Вбегают на сцену и читают стих.
Witch 1:
A witch wears a tall black hat,
A witch has a big black cat.
She sits on a broomstick as she goes by
And "O-oo-oo-ooh" is her cry.

Witch 2:
A witch wears a tall black hair,
A witch flies through the air.
She sits on a broomstick as she goes by
And "O-oo-oo-ooh" is her cry.

Witch 3:
A witch has a book of spells,
Her secrets she never tells.
She sits on a broomstick as she goes by
And "O-oo-oo-ooh" is her cry.
