The modern star of calisthenics is only 1. 66 meters tall and 42 kilos. The first success came to Alina Kabaeva at the International Competitions of Moscow in 1996. In 1998 she took part in Goodwill Games in the USA and won four gold medals and silver.
Then there were Japan, Holland, Austria and the girl was always a success. She won the European Championship and the World Cup Final in 2000. She took the third place in the Olympic Games in Sydney.
Alina was born in Tashkent, but since 1995 she has lived in Moscow and has been working with a famous coach Irina Viner who brought up a lot of famous gymnasts. Alina is keen on ballet. She likes reading and she collects soft toys. She hopes to win the Olympic Games in 2004 in Athens.
