o tell you about Victory Day in GB. Victory Day is a special day to remember war veterans in GB. All European counties celebrate it on the
8th of May and England is the only Western - European country that celebrates Victory Day on May 9th because after the end of the war many of our veterans stayed to live in the UK. Unfortunately, Victory Day is not an official holiday in England. There are several traditions to celebrate Victory
Day in this country:
1) Lay wreaths at the cenotaph on White Hall Street .
2) The concerts are traditionally arranged for Soviet and British veterans at the Belfast cruiser museum.
3) There is also a tradition Immortal Regiment in London.
4) There are only some people who wear St Georges ribbon.
It is not popular as in Russia.
5) As for parades , there are no crowds of people celebrating processions and parades in the streets.
6) After we can also hear a cannon shot and there is two-minutes of silence.
7) People can sing such songs as " Victory day", " Katyusha" and "Dark skinned girl".
